Web Programmer

Geum Environmental Consulting, Inc., located in Hamilton, Montana, is seeking a web programmer for contract or part time work, with potential for long-term work. Geum is a private company that supports large scale ecosystem restoration projects, providing services to state government, Indian Tribes, conservation organizations, foundations and private individuals. In addition to ecology and natural resources consulting, we create and host web-based software tools for mapping, data sharing and outreach. The programmer would work with Geum’s staff to continue development of existing web-based systems using standard LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) architecture in addition to custom API’s. The ideal candidate is proficient in both front-end website design as well as back-end development. Requirements include proficiency with PHP, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript and associated JavaScript libraries. Desired experience includes ArcGIS and web-based GIS applications such as ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise and other open source tools; PostgreSQL/PostGIS; Python; GitHub and Linux web server management using Webmin. Excellent communication skills, collaboration experience, and teamwork are essential for this role.
